Each kitty has a unique genetic code. Here's how to read your kitty's genes! (Or make this spreadsheet do it for you.) 1. Get your kitty’s genome from cryptokittydex.com/kitties/[KITTY#HERE]. 2. Get the kai genome. 3. Divide it into 4-digit chunks, starting from the right side. 4. Each chunk of 4 genes describes a cattribute category. Your kitty has 1 dominant trait and 3 recessive traits in each group. The dominant trait is your kitty's visible cattribute (e.g. sphynx). The recessive traits are non-visible, but may be passed on to children. 5. Use the Trait Chart to convert kai notation to cattribute names. 6. The dominant genes (D1) determine the visible traits (cattributes) of your kitty. Kittens have a 75% chance of inheriting the dominant trait from one of their parents, and a 25% chance of inheriting one of their parents’ recessive genes. (And R1 is more likely to be passed on than R2, R3.) NOTE: There is no letter 'L' in kai notation. (You can also use the binary genome in a similar way, where each chunk of 5 digits corresponds to a single kai digit.) Special shout-out to kai for breaking the genetic code.
