One thing that’s cool about CryptoKitties is that they’re a real blockchain asset, 100% owned by you. Once you buy a kitty, it cannot be taken from you or destroyed. Your kitty belongs to YOU. That means you can do whatever you want with your kitties, whether it be within the CryptoKitty interface or in another environment altogether. As third parties develop new ways to play with the kitties, the possibilities explode. AND IT’S HAPPENING NOW! KittyHats just launched and it’s fantastic. KittyHats is a chrome extension and store in which you can buy accessories (like hats and glasses) for your cats. The accessories are blockchain tokens, just like the cats, and the extension allows anyone to view the accessories in the real CryptoKitty Marketplace. The accessories stick to the kitties and are transferred smoothly from owner to owner. I love stuff like this. It creates new options for people to play CryptoKitties. Maybe you’re not into learning genetics and breeding cats. No problem! You can dress up your kitty instead and potentially add value to your kitty by putting together a limited-edition, eye-catching ensemble. And as more third-parties develop things, we’ll get even more options. For example, maybe that kitty you picked up for $0.55 is secretly good at battling other kitties. Everyone thought Boris was worthless, but as soon as that battling app was released, Boris has been racking up wins and skyrocketing in value! CryptoKitties are so much more than pictures of cat. They’re unique tokens with endless possibilities. What’s in store for your kitty? You won’t have to wait long to find out. The future is meow. To download the KittyHats extension (Chrome-store-approved), click here. Then look next to your kitties for a store icon. Click on it to start accessorizing! Want to see a few dressed-up kitties in the actual CK marketplace? Check these guys out. (Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the accessories to pop up.) Sir Gooble M. Pippers Mr. Wonderful For free accessories, check out the KittyHats GIVEAWAY and the Kitty Fashion Contest. If you have any questions for the KittyHats team, you can contact @jeehoz#5202 or @dan#6054 on Discord, or u/KittyHats-Official on Reddit. If you're not on Discord or Reddit, you can use [email protected]. (This is a sponsored post, but my thoughts are genuine.)
1. Tell your mom you want one for your birthday. A classic method but quite effective. 2. Enter a giveaway. If you look around the web, you can sometimes find free kitty giveaways. The best one right now is at poopie.cat. He gives away a kitty every day, and all you have to do to enter is "like" a few kitties and put in your CryptoKitty address (so he knows where to send your free kitty). Pretty easy, right? 3. Win a contest. We held a Breeders' Cup contest earlier this month, and KittyHats is holding a Kitty Fashion Contest right now. Also, CryptoKitties just hired a community manager (yay Brian!) who will hopefully be doing more contests and giveaways in the near future. Keep an eye on our NEWS section or LINKS page for updates. 4. Start a website and hope someone donates a kitty. :) It's worth a shot, right? (*cough cough* 0xaba935f589805095a892ecefdb6eb83eff45d679) Cats being stuck on "Bun in Oven" or "Resting" is a common issue, and it will generally resolve itself within a few hours. But in case you don't want to wait, you can call the smart contract manually using MyEtherWallet.
Here's an up-to-date guide on how to do that. I asked experienced players what they wish they would've known at the start. Here is their advice.
DON'T OVERSPEND ON GAS!! Metamask automatically sets Gas Limit and Gas Price for you, but if you learn to adjust it, you'll save a LOT in fees. Visit my post here to understand gas, or just do this: - Set gas limit to 250,000. - For gas price, visit ethgasstation.info and use the Gas Price Std amount. Do you have more cats that you can keep track of? I have the solution for you!!
Here is how to search and sort your personal kitties. Kitties have four genes for each cattribute. There is one dominant gene (which is expressed) and three recessive genes. When two cats breed, they each pass forward a gene to compete for their offspring’s dominant gene. If those genes are neighboring genes, there is a chance they will mutate and the kitten will get an entirely different gene.
There are countless ways to enjoy CryptoKitties. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
The Cat Lover You buy a few cats. You give them cute and hilarious names. You show them to your friends and family. Your mom says, “You spent your birthday money on that?” But you don’t care what anyone says. You love your cats and you’ll keep them forever. The Collector You love calicools and can’t help hoarding them. Or maybe you’re a Fancy Cat Enthusiast and want one of each kind. Or maybe you want to own every cattribute so as soon as a new cat is discovered, you’ll have all the ingredients you need to create one. Any way you slice it, you’re a cat collector. If you want to search for certain cattributes, just type in their names separated by a space. If you want to search for certain generations, cooldowns, or fancy cats, you need to specify.
Before you read this post, make sure you know how to read a kitty's genome, how recessive traits are passed on, and how fancy cats are made.
Okay, here's what I think. Rarity in traits is fleeting. Alien eyes are valuable for like a day, and then everyone moves on to the next thing. But purebred cats--cats that have the same gene in D1,R1,R2,R3--will have rarity that lasts. They will have predictability: you KNOW what cattribute they will pass on. This predictability will come in handy when trying to create fancy cats. Unlike traditional genetics, where dominant and recessive genes have to do with the traits themselves (e.g. blond hair is recessive to black hair), kitty genes are dominant and recessive based on where they are located in the kitty's genome, and it affects what gets passed to offspring.

Okay, guys, I made a spreadsheet to read your kitty's genome for you. 1. Copy your kitty's BINARY genome from https://cryptokittydex.com/kitties/[KITTY#HERE]. 2. Go to this spreadsheet and paste the genome into cell F1. 3. Now you can see all your kitty's recessive genes! Enjoy. Each kitty has a unique genetic code. Here's how to read your kitty's genes!
(Or make this spreadsheet do it for you.) 1. Get your kitty’s genome from cryptokittydex.com/kitties/[KITTY#HERE]. 2. Get the kai genome. 3. Divide it into 4-digit chunks, starting from the right side. 4. Each chunk of 4 genes describes a cattribute category. Your kitty has 1 dominant trait and 3 recessive traits in each group. The dominant trait is your kitty's visible cattribute (e.g. sphynx). The recessive traits are non-visible, but may be passed on to children. We've moved to cryptokitties411.com. Visit us there for the recipe for Stitches, the zombie fancy. Some kitties are classified as Fancy cats. Their artwork differs from the standard set of cattributes. Here are the ones that have been discovered so far: DuCat, ShipCat, Dracula, Mistletoe, SantaClaws, and PhuZiqaat. After a fancy cat is unlocked/discovered, you can breed your own using the recipes below. (Exclusive cats like Genesis cannot be reproduced through breeding.)
WE'VE MOVED! Please visit us at cryptokitties411.com for the new Mutation Match-Up Tool.
When you combine certain traits through breeding, it can result in a genetic mutation. Here are trait combinations that will result in mutation 14%-25% of the time.
Use the chart below to determine your kitty's exact cooldown speed.
